KEY MESSAGES

Issued at 123 AM CDT Sun Nov 1 2026

  • Our next cold front is expected around Tuesday, along with medium to high chances for showers and thunderstorms.

DISCUSSION

Issued at 123 AM CDT Sun Nov 1 2026

Warm and generally dry conditions are expected through Monday before our next cold front approaches the area. Guidance has gotten into better agreement that the cold front will move into the area late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, bringing with it a medium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms over the northern Brush Country and Victoria Crossroads. By afternoon/evening, precipitation will move to the Coastal Plains and over the coastal waters as the front swings further southeast. Behind the front, cooler and drier air will filter in, leaving us with highs in the 70s and low 80s for Wednesday.

Minor coastal flooding will continue to be a possibility during times of high tide through this morning. Guidance finally has tidal levels below 2.0 ft MSL so we will let the Coastal Flood Advisory expire after high tide. We will continue to monitor for tidal levels through early next week, but they are trending lower.

AVIATION

06Z TAFS · Issued at 123 AM CDT Sun Nov 1 2026

VFR conditions tonight will develop down to LIFR conditions by early morning, across eastern terminals (VCT/CRP/ALI) due to low ceilings and/or fog. MVFR to VFR expected across COT to LRD. VFR conditions should return by late morning or early afternoon. Light and variable winds overnight and tomorrow will settle into a southeasterly flow by the evening and generally remain below 10 KT.

MARINE

Issued at 123 AM CDT Sun Nov 1 2026

Light to gentle (BF 2-3) breezes will continue through Monday before a moderate (BF 4) breeze develops ahead of a cold front. Showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday and Tuesday night. Winds will turn to the north and become moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) behind the front.

FIRE WEATHER

Issued at 123 AM CDT Sun Nov 1 2026

Low-level moisture and light winds will continue to limit fire weather concerns. Showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday as a cold front moves across the area. Elevated fire weather conditions are not expected at this time.
